Relax Lorax

Our team is from Dubuque, Iowa, United States. We are from Dubuque Hempstead High School, and are in the 9-12 age category. There was an uneven number of students in my class so when everyone partnered up, I was stuck constructing this project on my own. This wasn't an issue because I preferred to work on my own anyways. What were some of the challenges you faced, and how did you solve them? The main challenge that I faced was to complete the construction of my home by the deadline given by my instructor. The only reason that this was difficult for me was because I wanted my house to be unique, I took a little extra time in the design and developing a meaning for my house. Other than the extra time that I needed to Design my home, I felt that everything else about this unit was laid out well, and my instructor did a very good job with describing our goals, encouraging her students to be creative through the whole process, and making sure that all of her students completed their goals in the give time period. What were your design goals? Tell us about the features in your house: My goals in the design of my solar powered house were to develop an idea that nobody has thought about before and expand the imagination of the other students participating in this experiment. I wanted to develop a home that not only looked different from everyone else's, but also had a unique function that my classmates have not thought about before. What is your light source? Sun
