Our team is from copley, Ohio, United States. We are from Copley High School , and are in the 9-12 age category. we have three members, Senior Heyi and Juniors Ryan and Sean, all first year engineering students. we used 6 pvc blades attached to a wooden shaft. the shaft was attached to a bearing and screwed into a wooden base. to generate power we used a large friction gear. the driven gear was under tension via spring and ensured continuous contact with the driving gear. our gear ratio was about 55-1. our turbine was able to generate 12.46 Volts with total power equal to 4.074 watts.
