2022 National KidWind Challenge

This year's culminating KidWind Challenge will bring together top performing teams from across the nation to compete alongside each other at the National KidWind Challenge.

You must be invited to this event by your local event coordinator or through our central office in order to participate. Invited teams can choose to attend the in-person event held during the CLEANPOWER trade show in San Antonio, Texas or to submit their turbine through our virtual portal.

The National KidWind Challenge will have three grade-level divisions this year: (1) 4-5th Grade Division; (2) 6-8th Grade Division; (3) 9-12th Grade Division

This year's in-person National KidWind Challenge will be co-located with the Collegiate Wind Competition and include multiple opportunities to meet with and learn from the members of the Collegiate Wind teams.

Invited teams who wish to attend the National KidWind Challenge in-person should plan on arriving to San Antonio by 3pm on Monday, May 16th. The National KidWind Challenge will close at 11am on Thursday, May 19th.

Tentative Schedule

Monday, May 16th: Team Arrivals (Check-in 3pm-8pm)

Tuesday, May 17th: 9am Kick-Off and then full day competition

Wednesday, May 18th: Full day competition and evening team party

Thursday, May 19th: 9-10am Awards Breakfast and then team departures
