REcharge Labs Activities
Award-winning solar activities.
REcharge Labs was started in 2015 to develop a new suite of resources that would allow all learners (K-College) to more creatively explore wind and solar power by blending the art and science around renewable energy. REcharge Labs developed an amazing set of lessons and kits that helped students to construct houses, cars, fountains that were powered by the wind and sun. In 2019 REcharge Labs closed as Asia moved on to found an art focused conservancy and Michael refocused his efforts around the KidWind Challenge. All of the REcharge Labs lessons and materials are now housed at KidWind. A few of the REcharge Labs kits are still sold by KidWind see the gear page for more details. If you want to build your own kits - see our materials lists here

MacGyver WindmillsStudents are tasked with constructing a simple windmill to lift weights out of basic materials.
Mini WindmillsStudents construct simple windmills.
Sail CarsStudents construct and test small cars that are powered by the wind.
Solar Cork BoatsStudents design and construct small boats that are powered by solar PV.
Solar FountainsStudents design and construct small fountains that are powered by solar PV.
Solar ScavengerStudents explore how solar panels work through experimentation and a scavenger hunt.
Solar HousesStudents construct solar powered structures and explore circuits.
Solar RoverWhile never developed into a full activity this was a real crowd pleaser!
