Are you an educator interested in working with teachers and students to bring wind energy science and technology into K-12 classrooms? Want to become part of the KidWind wind geek network? Looking to sponsor a KidWind Challenge in your state or region? Then this is the training program is for you.
The goal of the WindSenators Education Network is to provide regional locations with knowledgeable, experienced wind energy educators that can help others get the tools and information they need to teach students and the public about wind energy science and technology.
The six-day training provides hands on instruction about wind energy science and technology using a variety of subjects (physics, technology, biology, earth and environmental science) and includes in depth training on the WindWise Curriculum and KidWind materials and curricula. There will also be a number of guest speakers from the wind industry, and tours of local wind facilities.

This workshop is free for K-12 teachers and is sponsored by the Dakota Resource Council along with the ND Department of Commerce. This event is open to all teachers and attendees are eligible to receive credit from UND or NDSU Continuing Education Program.

We will be holding a series of FREE teacher trainings this spring (March and April) for teachers interested in participating in the Wind Turbine Challenge. grain grinders of medieval Holland to the wind farms being constructed all
around the United States, wind power has captured the public imagination with
its simplicity and elegance. KidWind specializes in training teachers in the
science behind wind energy and how to incorporate renewable energy science
lessons in the classroom.
Participants
are given the tools, skills, and resources they need to introduce students wind
energy concepts using standards-based activities in and engaging, hands-on manner.
Workshop
appeals to elementary, middle, high school and community college teachers with
an interest in renewable energy, physics, general science, technical education,
engineering and design, environmental science, and/or mathematics. Each
workshop participant receives a comprehensive curriculum package and free
classroom materials.
KidWind will be back in Canada for the WindENG 2010 Competition!
In conjunction with University of Guelph's WindEng High School Wind Energy Design Competition
we are holding a KidWind teacher workshop. The workshop will go in depth into the science and engineering behind wind turbines. Attending teachers will learn to build and test classroom wind turbines while also being exposed to ideas and lesson plans for engaging, hands-on science activities. This will be a full day event
where attendees can learn about wind energy technologies, participate
in a student driven wind energy competition and go home with wind

KidWind is coming to the Dallas / Ft. Worth area for a series of workshops in preparation for the American Wind Energy Association WINDPOWER 2010 Conference in Dallas this May!
This 3-hour, after-school workshop is one of several KidWind workshops offered in the DFW area this spring. The workshop is FREE and open to any teachers interested in bringing wind energy science into their classrooms. Attending teachers will learn about hands-on activities and engaging lessons to teach about wind power, and will also learn about an opportunity to participate in the Wind Turbine Challenge at the AWEA conference. This competition challenges students to build the most powerful and efficient wind turbine. The competition will be held on the floor of the AWEA conference - where students will be brushing shoulders with the big players in the worldwide wind industry! Students will test their turbines in the KidWind Wind Tunnel, a professional wind tunnel with live data monitoring software recording their turbine power output! Registration for the Wind Turbine Challenge is FREE, and students compete for GREAT PRIZES!
Teachers attending this workshop will receive a free KidWind Basic Turbine for their classroom, free curricular materials, and will also be given extra hubs and generators to participate in the Wind Turbine Challenge in May.
