The KidWind Project seeks to support teachers interested in teaching about wind energy in the classroom in a variety of dimensions. As you can see from our Learn section we offer lessons plans, power points and lots of other presentation materials and ideas free of charge.

 

We also want to support hands on learning in the classroom.  We know that some teachers do not have the resources to purchase materials to give their students an engaging experience with wind energy or other sources. That is why we have started the windGrants program.

 

Starting in September 2008 KidWind will donate $150 worth of wind and renewable energy kits to three teachers. These teachers will be selected from applications submitted to the application pool over the academic year.

 

We will select two winners each month from 9/2008 - 5/2009.

 

To be eligible for this program, you must be an educator and you must fill out a short online application.      Complete the Online Application   Eligibility: To be eligible you will need to provide a valid school address.  Individuals who are not affiliated with a school or an educational program will not be eligible.  Applicants will be selected on the basis of need, location, number of students impacted and level of teacher interest and dedication.
